App Functionality and Usage

The OnVerb app is designed to provide users with a contextual interface for interacting with ChatGPT or other language models provided by OnVerb. When you use the app, you have the ability to input text and receive responses generated by the language model.

Data Privacy

At OnVerb, we take data privacy seriously and are committed to ensuring the confidentiality and security of the data stored within the OnVerb app.


The data that is stored within the app, including chat history, responses, prompts, saves, and any other data, is used solely for specific purposes. These purposes include platform protection against abuse, analytical purposes to understand and improve the app’s performance, and providing support to users. We do not sell or misuse your data beyond the scope outlined in these terms and conditions.

To ensure the security of your data, we store it on AWS architecture, a reliable and secure cloud infrastructure provider. Data at rest is encrypted by default, which adds an extra layer of protection. We also follow the principle of least privilege, which means that only authorised personnel have access to user-generated data. This helps to restrict access and minimise potential risks.

While we implement various security measures to protect your data, it’s important to note that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. Despite our best efforts, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

However, we continuously monitor and update our security practices to mitigate any potential risks and to ensure the highest possible level of data protection.

By using the OnVerb app, you acknowledge and understand that while we strive to protect your data, there are inherent risks associated with data transmission and storage. We encourage you to review our data privacy practices described in these terms and contact us if you have any concerns about the security or privacy of your data.

App Usage Guidelines

To ensure a positive and respectful environment for all users, we have established app usage guidelines for the OnVerb app. When using the app, it is important that you adhere to these guidelines.

Firstly, you must not create or submit any offensive material or content that is likely to cause harm to another individual. This includes but is not limited to content that is discriminatory, hateful, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise inappropriate. We expect all users to engage in respectful and responsible behaviour when using the app.

The AI API’s, which power the OnVerb app, have their own policies that prohibit the generation of certain types of content. It will not respond with material that breaches these policies. As a user, you should also be mindful of these policies, and any content generated or received through the app must comply with them.

If we determine that a user has violated these guidelines, we may take punitive action against their account. This could include restricting or terminating their access to the app. Such measures are taken to maintain a safe and positive user experience for all individuals.

It’s important to note that while we provide the platform for users to interact with AI and generate content, OnVerb does not take responsibility for the specific content produced through a user’s interactions with the language model. The resulting content remains the property of the user, and no intellectual property transaction takes place as a result of using the OnVerb app. This means that you retain ownership rights to the content you generate.

By using the OnVerb app, you agree to comply with these app usage guidelines and take responsibility for the content you create. We encourage all users to engage in respectful and lawful interactions while utilising the app’s features.

Payment Processing

To provide a seamless payment experience, we have partnered with Stripe, a trusted and reliable payment processing platform. Stripe ensures that your payment information is handled securely and encrypted during the transaction process.
When you subscribe to a plan or make any payments within the OnVerb app, your payment details, such as credit card information, are securely transmitted to and processed by Stripe. This ensures that your sensitive data is protected and handled with the utmost care.

Managing your subscription and payment preferences is made easy within the app. By clicking on the account button in your account settings, you will be able to access the necessary options to manage your plan. This includes the ability to upgrade your plan, cancel your subscription, or make changes to your payment method. Stripe facilitates these operations and ensures that your payment-related interactions are handled seamlessly.

By using the OnVerb app, you agree to the terms and conditions set forth by Stripe for payment processing. It’s important to note that the handling of your payment information is subject to Stripe’s own privacy and security policies. We encourage you to review Stripe’s terms and conditions to familiarise yourself with their practices.

If you encounter any issues or have questions related to payment processing, our support team is available to assist you. We strive to provide a smooth and secure payment experience for all users of the OnVerb app, and we appreciate your cooperation in using the provided payment features responsibly.

Data Transfer

As an organisation, OnVerb is headquartered in the UK and operates within the scope of UK data protection laws and regulations. However, to provide our services effectively, we utilise the infrastructure and services of Amazon Web Services (AWS), which may involve the transfer of data to data centres located outside the UK.


AWS operates a global network of data centres to ensure efficient and reliable service delivery. This means that certain data generated or received through the OnVerb app may be stored in AWS data centres located in various regions around the world. While these data centres may be situated outside the UK, we take measures to ensure the highest level of security for user data.

One such measure is data-at-rest encryption. This means that when your data is stored in AWS data centres, it is automatically encrypted to safeguard its confidentiality and integrity. Encryption helps to protect your data from unauthorised access and ensures that it remains secure even in the event of a breach or unauthorised access to the physical infrastructure.

By relying on data-at-rest encryption, we aim to provide you with peace of mind regarding the security of your data. We prioritise the protection of your information and implement best practices to mitigate risks associated with data storage and transfer.

It’s important to note that while we take necessary precautions and employ encryption techniques, no method of transmission or storage over the internet can guarantee absolute security. Despite our efforts to maintain a secure environment, there are inherent risks associated with data transfer and storage that are beyond our control.

Disclaimer of Liability

We want to ensure that you have a clear understanding of the limitations and disclaimers related to the use of the OnVerb app. It is important to recognise that the app’s functionality relies on machine learning algorithms, specifically the responses generated by language models. Therefore, we must emphasise the following disclaimers:


1. Accuracy, Reliability, and Suitability: While we strive to provide high-quality and relevant responses, we cannot guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or suitability of the content generated by AI. The responses are generated based on patterns and data available to the language model during training. As a result, the generated content may not always be accurate, complete, or up to date. It is important to exercise your own judgement and verification when using the app.

2. Limitations of Machine Learning: AI responses are based on machine learning algorithms and may not always reflect human-like understanding or reasoning. The language model’s responses are generated based on statistical patterns and do not possess true comprehension or consciousness. While the model has been trained on vast amounts of data, it may still produce errors, inconsistencies, or responses that may not align with human expectations.

3. Reliance on Generated Content: Any reliance on the content generated by AI is at your own risk. The app’s responses are intended to provide assistance and information, but they may not always be appropriate, complete, or reliable. You should not solely rely on the generated content for making important decisions or taking actions without independent verification or professional advice.4

Given these limitations, we want to make it clear that OnVerb and its representatives are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages that may arise from the use or inability to use the app or from any reliance on the content generated by AI. This includes but is not limited to damages related to errors, omissions, interruptions, inaccuracies, or the loss of data.

It is essential to understand that the app is a tool that assists with generating text-based responses, and the responsibility for the use and interpretation of the content lies with the user. We encourage you to exercise caution, critical thinking, and independent judgement when utilising the app’s features and the content it generates.

Modifications and Termination

In order to ensure the continued improvement and functionality of the OnVerb app, we reserve the right to make modifications, suspend or terminate the app, or make changes to these Terms at any time, without prior notice.
Modifications to the app may include adding new features, updating existing features, or making changes to the user interface. We strive to provide the best user experience possible, and these modifications are aimed at enhancing and optimising the app’s performance.

In some instances, we may need to suspend or terminate the app temporarily or permanently. Such actions could be necessary for various reasons, including but not limited to maintenance, security enhancements, or strategic decisions. While we make efforts to minimise disruptions, there may be instances where access to the app is temporarily unavailable or permanently discontinued.

We also reserve the right to restrict or terminate your access to the app if you violate these Terms or engage in any unauthorised activities. Violations of these Terms may include but are not limited to the creation or submission of offensive or harmful content, misuse of the app’s features, or any other actions that breach the guidelines outlined in these Terms and Conditions. We will exercise this right with fairness and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Should your access to the app be restricted or terminated, you may lose access to any saved data, chat history, or other app-related content. It is therefore advisable to regularly back up any important data to prevent potential loss.

We will make reasonable efforts to communicate any significant modifications, suspensions, or terminations of the app, as well as any changes to these Terms, through appropriate channels, such as announcements on the app or notifications via email.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in accepting these possibilities, as they are essential for maintaining and improving the app’s functionality, security, and overall user experience.

Governing Law

The governing law provision in these Terms establishes the legal framework for the agreement between you and OnVerb. It specifies that these Terms are subject to and shall be interpreted in accordance with the laws of the UK.


This means that any legal matters, disputes, or claims arising from or related to these Terms, the OnVerb app, or your use of the app will be governed by UK law. The UK legal system will apply to any interpretation, enforcement, or resolution of conflicts that may arise.

In the event of a dispute, you and OnVerb agree that the exclusive jurisdiction for resolving such disputes lies with the courts of the UK. This means that any legal proceedings or litigation arising from these Terms will be conducted in the courts within the UK as determined by the applicable legal procedures.

By accepting these Terms, you consent to the application of UK law and the exclusive jurisdiction of UK courts for any disputes or legal matters arising from your use of the OnVerb app.

We believe that establishing a clear governing law and jurisdiction helps provide predictability, consistency, and a fair legal framework for both you and OnVerb. It ensures that any disputes or legal issues related to the app can be resolved in a consistent and orderly manner within the jurisdiction of the UK legal system.
